CurrentIn March 2023, I was nominated and elected to serve as the Chair of the Board of Directors of Students for Sensible Drug Policy. In this position, I lead SSDP’s board of directors, ensuring the effectiveness of the board’s governance role and processes. I also lead all monthly board meetings and the board’s Executive Committee. I represent the board across our network, maintaining effective relationships with board members, our network, and stakeholders to advance our mission of ending the War on Drugs.

Associate Program Analyst
I supported the High Reliability Organization (HRO) Project, which supports Veterans Health Administration (VHA) in decreasing patient harm and optimizing service delivery. In FY22, I supported the HRO assessment workstream for continuous improvement of service delivery and to foster a collective understanding of frontline patient care. I assisted with the creation of over 131 site-specific assessments, workshops, and implementation plans. I facilitated HRO Implementation Workshops with VAMC senior leaders and frontline staff members to develop HRO action plans to guide facility forward on Journey to HRO. In this role, I oversaw several state and federally funded projects with annual budgets exceeding $1.6 million including project planning, trainings, data collection, evaluation, implementation, and reporting responsibilities. I provided expert consulting and evidence-based research on substance use disorder, opioid use disorder, harm reduction, and public health topics to the team, as well as a wide range of external stakeholders, to ensure program efficiency and sustainability. I utilized data and performance metrics to direct project staff, stakeholders, and decision making, and I provided technical consulting to various stakeholders and organizations to implement data driven, community level public health interventions. I delivered services including, but not limited to, county coalition-building and facilitation, statewide workgroup facilitation, event coordination, stakeholder management, strategic planning, program implementation, and organizational health assessments. I maintained an online database housing overdose death data from all 67 Pennsylvania counties gathered by coordinating with county coroners and medical examiners (OverdoseFreePA). I also oversaw the planning, execution, and evaluation of a series of workshops across Pennsylvania in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Health and Pennsylvania Department of Human Services. In summary, I pioneered the implementation of a novel public health approach to substance use disorder via county coalitions to reduce and prevent overdose deaths.
