PhD in materials science with experience in characterization, metrology, instrumentation, R&D, project management, and stakeholder management. Regarding instrumentation I have acquired, maintained, and improved laboratory equipment and had responsibility for training of others. I developed two characterization methods for anisotropic materials during my PhD and collaborated on instrument design of bespoke equipment. My procurement of an instrument through an EU tender process required stakeholder management between funders, users, suppliers, facility management, and legal department in order to get the right equipment in a timely manner and within budget. My data treatment, analysis, and visualization uses generalized scripts to ensure consistency and speed, where I mainly use Python and have used MatLab in the past.I enjoy the process of making, tinkering, and fixing, as the creation of solutions and making things work is very satisfying to me. Such work is particularly fun during collaborative idea generation or edge case considerations, where one's deep understanding is challenged and new insights are often gained.In my spare time I try to fit more interests than I can fit in a day. Twice a week I do viking combat reenactment with blunt metal weapons and occasionally to viking markets and compete against people from other combat groups. When I am not stabbing people with my spear I like to try and beat them in a board game or go bouldering. I am also into specialty coffee, where I am looking forward to a water filtration system, as my next upgrade. Lastly, I enjoy gardening, foraging, and cooking, as a fun and tasty way of having nice culinary experiences and the added sustainability aspect is a nice bonus.
