Hey I'm Karl a New Zealand based UX/UI Senior Product Designer/Owner who specialises in CX/UX/UI. I have been in the SAAS industry for over 17 years.I founded my own company which I grew to 17 full time staff, over 1 million users, over $1.5 million in revenue and over 700 clients. We owe our success and thrived as a company because of good software design, listening to customers and great team work. Not only do I understand design but I also understand commercial and financial goals and constraints. My passion is to connect with a client, empathise, understand their pain points, their requirements, challenges and needs and then produce what they need to get the job done. I am a person who naturally builds a connection with customers. My colleagues would say that I lead teams and design products that people love. I create applications that not only look good but function well and meet the objectives set out by the client. I listen ‘between the lines’ and create streamlined, simple, effective and innovative solutions. I create solutions with the WOW factor. My absolute favourite thing is when a customer sees my solution and they say “I’m not sure how you did it but this is exactly what I needed!”I have been fortunate to be able to make a career out of doing the things I love. I stepped back from running my company due to my newborn daughter needing open heart surgery at 6 days old. Her recovery process was long and slow and required my wife and I to be in hospital with her for the first 5 months of her life. However, I am driven and ambitious and cannot sit around doing nothing – I love to work. Throughout this time I continued to freelance, chased work and ended up landing a government website contract and worked with a non for profit SaaS organisation among many others. I am a problem solver and get back up when things don’t go the way I expected them to – because things will happen. I am now looking for my next exciting new role which allows me as Senior Product Designer/Owner to grow and work with a team, to help take the business to the next level and have fun doing it.
