INFJ. Illustrator, Designer, Artist, and Graphic Novel Author. Lecturer in UX/UI, Visual Communication Design, Illustration, and Visual Narratives. Book Lover. Podcast junkie. I matriculated from Stellenbosch High School, studied Graphic Design and Illustration at Stellenbosch University and started my career as a designer with Orange Juice Design at the multinational advertising agency Ogilvy & Mather, Cape Town in 1998. After travelling extensively and working in the UK for a few years, I returned to South Africa to pursue my Master's degree in Information Design at Pretoria University. I have been a lecturer and mentor to design and illustration students for almost 25 years at various private tertiary institutions and public research universities in South Africa and abroad. I am currently a UX and Communication Design lecturer at the Open Window Institute's new Stellenbosch Campus. As an artist and author, I am best known for my watercolour works on paper, picture books, and colourful, often satirical illustrations. My work has been published or featured in Le Monde (FR), Internazionale (IT), Neue Zürcher Zeitung (CH), Business Day (ZA), Art South Africa (ZA), Sunday Times (ZA), Between 10and5 (ZA), and Mail & Guardian (ZA) among others.In my private life, I live with my partner and children in the Paarl Winelands in the Western Cape. I enjoy walking in the mountains, running (getting there slowly but surely), swimming in the sea, and stimulating conversation with good food and fine wine.
