Karlina Paredes was born and raised in the Bay Area, earning her BA from San Jose State University in 2008 and her JD from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law in 2011. Ms. Paredes specializes in contentious custody matters, cases with substantial assets for valuation and division, and consulting through mediation. She routinely handles all areas of family law including dissolutions, parentage actions, property issues, disclosures, income, child and spousal support, business valuations, goodwill, structured buyouts, fiduciary duties, premarital and post marital agreements, domestic violence, custody, move-aways, attorney fees, international child abductions, mediation, and enforcement issues. She has expertise in the characterization, valuation, and division of complex assets including restricted stock units, stock, stock options, professional practices, corporations, and routinely addresses separate property tracing, misappropriation of assets, and mixed character assets. ​Ms. Paredes is comfortable in any legal environment, such as depositions, mediations, collaborative dissolutions, settlement conferences, and high-stakes trials in the courtroom, both in public and private courts.
