Aviation Engineering Manager
Directly responsible for the career development and welfare management of 30 engineers, whilst indirectly managing a larger engineering team of over 60 personnel, providing maintenance support to a squadron of state-of-the-art military helicopters. - Led a team of 23 engineers in the provision of Military Aid to Civilian Authorities in the Midlands, Northern England and Scotland, in challenging circumstances during the Covid-19 pandemic, resulting in the award of 2021 REME Engineering Team of the Year.- Transformed organisational engineering processes, leading to a reduction in deployment preparation time of over 25% and technical training time by 50%, from 12 to 6 months. Subsequently recognised as the best training package across Army Aviation. - Managed resources, risk and performance to achieve a demanding operational output both in the UK and overseas.- Conducted the evaluation and restructure of an 11-week maintenance supervisor programme, in order to align training with organisational goals. Overcame initial resistance and departmental differences, liaised regularly with all key stakeholders. Resulting in a reduction in trainer requirement of 40%, whilst increasing annual course output from 72 to 128 trained supervisors, an increase of 78% per year.
