At the conclusion of the UK Autodrive project, I was invited to be a part of a newly created team of specialists. This small team consists of individuals who are experts in their area (currently; psychology, biology, and ergonomics) and our role is to work with teams across the UK R&D, as well as our Portland and Shanghai colleagues, and provide insights and advice based on this expertise. My function is advising on any aspects relating to psychology, and I have worked on a variety of projects including motion sickness, HMI design, gamification, and perceptions of thermal comfort to name a few. I am also continuing my work from my previous JLR role on the trust and acceptance of automated and autonomous vehicles (levels 2-5).

Working as part of the future mobility & smart surfaces team within the research & technology division, most of my time was spent on the UK Autodrive Project looking at autonomous vehicles. Within this team, I was responsible for identifying and investigating those factors that can influence trust and acceptance of autonomous vehicles for passengers inside the vehicle, as well as the vehicle-pedestrian communication. I designed, moderated, and analysed data from an extensive set of user trials using a variety of methods and tools including lab-based settings, real-world trials with Level 4 autonomous vehicles, and simulated environments using a state-of-the-art virtual reality environments.

This was an extremely varied role where I needed to apply my psychology, UX, and CRO skills to a wide variety of clients, including GDS assessed public sector, private sector organisations, and e-commerce organisations. I was largely responsible for conversion audits, website expert reviews, and data analysis on projects, both qualitative and quantitative, and given my psychology expertise, I was frequently advising all divisional heads on the use of RCT's (Randomised Control Trials). I prepared, and regularly attended pitches for potential clients, as well as preparing and presenting project outcomes to executive level stakeholders.I previously consulted on projects for Cornwall Council ("One Transport System" Project - GDS discovery & Alpha phase), Human Fertilisations & Embryology Authority (leading intranet GDS beta testing), Health Education England (TEL Project - GDS Discovery), Carluccio's (conversion optimisation), Everest Windows (leading 1-1 user testing), Visit England (UX & conversion optimisation), Keller Group (discovery phase), and Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).
