Karl Reti is a Director Product Management at Athenahealth. He possess expertise in java, soa, software development, software engineering, integration and 18 more skills. I found his ability to clearly and effectively communicate with engineering teams, senior management, customers and analysts truly astonishing. Equally impressive are his technical skills and his ability to learn new technologies. However, I think his most impressive trait is his vision. An example of this was his decision (in 2001) to adopt Eclipse as the platform for a new tooling initiative. After convincing senior management to take a chance on the platform, he worked with engineers on the product team to bring them up to speed on the new platform (most of us had little to no Java or GUI experience). The end result was an award winning product (a testament to his leadership).
