Hansumaa Talu is an innovative, sustainability-focused farm in Estonia, specializing in organic produce and handcrafted food products. We are developing our production to cultivate high-quality tomatoes, chilies, Honeysuckle berries, and produce jams and sauces, all with a commitment to natural and sustainable farming practices.

As Head of IT, my team leads the digitalization initiatives in our scale-up efforts, including the development of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). We also manage User Support, ERP development, Information Security, Network and Server Infrastructure.Collaborating with Siemens, we are building an Industry 4.0 compliant factory, demonstrating our drive towards leading-edge manufacturing technologies. We are also adopting a new ITIL-based service delivery methodology to optimize our IT services. A pivotal aspect of our work involves partnering with Hyperscalers to enhance our data management capabilities. This collaboration focuses on leveraging their expansive infrastructure and advanced technologies to improve our data processing, storage, and security.

As Chief Information and People Officer, I lead both IT and HR functions at the executive level. My focus has been on evolving the IT organization to meet the standards required for ISO27001 and SOC2 audits. This involved implementing the Drata platform for ISO27001 compliance. Additionally we introduced a new operating model for the IT function. My team also introducsed majors changes to our ERP processes in Production, Procurement, and Warehouse management. We set up new interfaces for Intrastat data, semi-automatic cell receiving, and production locks, among other functionalities.In HR we brought in new leadership to our GRD Factory and introducing a new HRIS software among other things. We also setup company-wide quarterly management training events, aligning organizational practices with strategic goals. I created a new 1:1: meeting framework and wrote the OKR manual for Skeleton.

As Head of Information Technology and Operational Excellence, I led the management of our IT infrastructure, establishing new standards for IT operations. Together with my team we led the digitalisation efforts in the factory that included setting up setting up smart scale solutions. We automated onboarding and offboarding processes and developed First-In-First-Out (FIFO) implementation solutions, alongside introducing new short-term planning tools in our ERP system.I introduced Cybersecurity maturity assessments, network penetration testing, and implementing conditional access across the company. We rolled out new cybersecurity training programs. One of our biggest achievements during that time was to revamp our processess and tools to setup an IATF-approved IT organization. We set up an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) system for our customers and implemented automated scheduling in the ERP system.My team was responsible for creating a new ERP development model based on Head Users and established new learning and knowledge spaces for ERP development.Leading the Agile Development team we set new targets for iterative process management in the development process and introduced Scrum methodologies to multiple new teams.

As Chief Operating Officer, I oversaw the implementation and management of company-wide Objectives and Key Results (OKRs). I introduced and managed an Engagement Survey process, and established a comprehensive 360° review system for team leaders and management. A significant achievement during for the company during my tenure was the 14-fold increase in the order intake.Together with the HR team we redefined remuneration principles and implemented health initiatives. We established a regular system of one-on-one meetings for managers and organized feedback workshops for team leads and management. I setup a Program Management process to prioritize development resources. Together with the IT and OPEX team we deployed encryption solutions across the company, integrated purchase order automation in the ERP, and introduced new travel and cost management systems. They were instrumental in establishing critical conditions measurement tracking in the factory, implementing a new IT development management system, creating tracking and inspection tools in Epicor, establishing a Mobile Device and Encryption Management system, and developing a new Quality Management System (QMS) in Confluence.

As Head of IT and Operations, I implemented a new service delivery and IT support model, including the introduction of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for User Support. I led the digitalization of the factory, which involved establishing new data sources and overseeing the complete redesign of our infrastructure, transitioning to Azure and Office 365. Additionally, I initiated the creation of an educational portal for our ERP system and developed applications such as the Epicor Inspection app. I was an Agile Coach to Scrum Masters, who successfully introduced a new Cell and module development process. Among other things we also implemented new Manufacturing Execution System (MES) reporting rules and developed the required functionalities. This role involved setting up enhanced reporting mechanisms for the sales pipeline and order intake. We also implemented a new Azure-based security policies, establishing an SLA for maintaining Microsoft O365 Secure Score.

In the role of Business Development Operations Manager, I act as an Agile Coach for stakeholders and development teams, establishing and coordinating Development and Product Management Processes. I lead the Salesforce and Einstein integration project to streamline operations. I also coordinated the creation of Sales and Business Development processes.My responsibilities also include developing and maintaining Business Intelligence (BI) solutions and dashboards, and implementing a new reporting system in PowerBi to enhance efficiency.I managed the sales implementation of a new ERP system, aligning it with operational needs and facilitating a smooth transition for the sales team.I lead the project to relocate our factory and operations to Germany. This involved planning and execution to ensure operational continuity and productivity during the move.

In my role as a CSPO, I managed the development of online stores and self-service environments, prioritizing development backlogs and roadmaps. I oversee two development teams and a support team consisting of two analysts and a UX Specialist. My responsibilities include analyzing business requirements, collaborating with line managers and stakeholders in creating development epics, reporting on project status, and managing stakeholder expectations.Key achievements include leading the launch of a new online store with updated corporate visual identity and serving as the Chief Product Owner for the Elisa e-book project, an online service for e-book rentals. I also implemented an automated solution for creating service and device contracts.My role extends to organizational development, specifically in introducing and integrating agile methodologies, including Scrum, into product and software development processes. This initiative has been central to enhancing agile development and program management practices within the organization.
