Art has always been a driving force in my life, keeping my attention far longer than any other hobby I’ve pursued. As a child I remember I could pick which tasks to keep me busy in class and I would always choose to draw—then as I got home I would draw again, every day, for years. For me, making art has always been a way to keep me grounded, motivated, focused; it’s a way for me to gather up my dreams and create something physical out of them. Growing up I always admired cartoons, especially how they worked, and I knew I wanted to join in something like that: to put my all in something for everyone else to admire as well. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with my life, until I started watching another animated show that gave me my motivation back. I was so inspired by the artwork, the story, and the characters that I wanted to do the same—I wanted to tell a story of my own. So I continued practicing again, working into something I could be proud of, something I could create to motivate other people as they have inspired me. I am an artist because that’s what I find the most happiness in doing; I can create something that’s whole and completely myself.
