What do you need to know about me? Well I've got three favourite things in my world; My family, My Exercise (for now its CrossFit but who knows what I might try next!) and my Job!From a work perspective... some of the things that make me keep turning up every day and have kept me at BHP for nearly 10 years are the people, the people that I work with on the daily inspire me, challenge me, support me and help me deliver the amazing work we are doing here in the candidate space. The next is my actual work, as my title suggests, candidate engagement and experience is my passion. I’m responsible for candidate engagement and recruitment marketing across all of BHP’s global assets…from Australia (where I’m based!) to South America! Day to day, I’m focused on attracting candidates that may not have previously considered BHP as an employer, getting those candidates to apply for our roles and then making sure that when they do, the experience they receive is world class. It’s a big, big role with a big, big opportunity to make an impact. I believe that recruitment has a lot to learn from consumer marketing and as the talent market begins to tighten up, exceptional service during a recruitment process matters. Candidates might not be asked to part with cash when applying for a role, but they do part with time, which you could argue is something much more valuable (it is for me, I often wish that the day had more hours!). In treating candidates as customers and analysing the experience that they have when applying for a job, we can make improvements, provide more information and hopefully make what can be a very stressful process – a little less stressful!
