Financial Analyst
Current• Provide purchasing support to clients in preparing and issuing purchase order in accordance with the city policies/procedures, the Purchasing by Law and Council approved reports. • Review the budget for construction projects that will support the development of the city and communicate with clients for additional information before approving. • Review and evaluate all Travel Claims and issue report for compliance/noncompliance. • Train new employees on the policies, procedures, and tools needed to carry out their duties effectively. • Prepare and write reports for departments, recognize issues, and provide solutions.• Evaluate, analyze, and update all existing policies and procedures. • Participate in the testing and implementation of information systems and financial applications: Ariba and US Bank, to recognize issues and find solutions.• Review financial statements with auditors and clients, and report for completeness, compliance/noncompliance, and accuracy of accounting information/tax codes. • Contribute to year-end duties: evaluate reconciliation of Petty Cash Funds and Change Floats, Goods and Services Acquired by Purchase Order, Payments Without Reference• Attend meetings to provide a summary of issues that have been faced during the week and provide possible solutions.
