Tallinn Botanic Garden is the largest botanic garden in Estonia. The outdoor and greenhouse expositions are unique and the most biodiverse (over 8,000 taxons and plant breeds) in Estonia. The main objective of the Tallinn Botanic Garden is to study, protect, as well as educate people about the diversity of the plant kingdom. The TBG supports the implementation of the national environmental programme and promotes nature awareness by reducing people’s alienation from nature. With the help of its ever-expanding plant collections protected as natural and cultural objects, the TBG shapes people’s understanding of the importance of the plant and mushroom kingdoms in the preservation of life. Another important goal of the TBG is to carry out urban ecology research in Tallinn.
