With a variety of experiences in education over the past 15 years, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the field of literacy education. Having conducted research on topics such as teacher knowledge, evidence-based reading interventions, and dyslexia identification, I possess a depth of understanding that informs curriculum development and shapes future research projects centered around the Science of Reading and structured literacy. As a Licensed Dyslexia Therapist, I have worked with a diverse group of students from Kindergarten up to grade 8 to provide differentiated, explicit, and systematic literacy instruction. I have experience delivering professional development to a variety of audiences, as well as providing instruction to undergraduate students at the university level. In addition, my experience serving as a classroom teacher and campus leader in roles such as Dyslexia Specialist and Instructional Coach provides me with insight into what is required for the successful implementation and application of new programs. In my current role as Director of Research, I developed systems for ongoing data collection and analysis of our course offerings and built a research framework in an effort to build collaboration across departments for the good of the organization.
