In 2012 Karol published her first book, 30 Lessons in Love, Leadership, and Legacy from Harriet Tubman. This book is a guide to using Harriet Tubman’s inspirational stories as examples of how anyone can be a leader and leave a legacy if they are motivated by love. Karol is also a Teaching Artist and has developed ELA/Social Studies and ESL curriculums for teaching the humanitarian leadership concepts from Harriet Tubman to youth from 5 to 12 grades. Through learning about Harriet Tubman, from her life stories, participating in group activities, students develop communication skills through storytelling, journaling, collaborative service-learning activities, artistic creations, and community engagement activities.
