Careers Wales Project:Joined as a senior developer to build Java Spring RESTful microservices that provided data through our API gateway. The microservice made use of a Cosmos database for document storage and an Apache Solr instance for rapid searching. The microservice was deployed on an Azure Cloud as a Docker container using Kubernetes. Royal Bank of Scotland Project: Created Groovy scripts within the Structured Data Manager from Micro Focus to process database entries inside our clients database. HM Government Services Project: Created web based Java application to replace old system going out of commission. Worked on both creating back-end Java Spring RESTful microservices and front-end interface using Vaadin web framework. Was in charge of setting up the projects automated builds, testing and deployment using Jenkins for the use of the development team.Department of Work and Pension Project: Tasked with upgrading old system from Java 6 to Java 8 and recreate functionality from Cobol code within Java. Moved codebase from WebLogic to Azure Cloud. Developed a Java Spring back-end service to provide data from our database using JDBC. Worked on integrating the back-end to the Javascript front-end.Deutsche Bank Project: Worked closely with Deutsche Bank employees to gather requirements and develop automated Unix, PowerShell and Python scripts that replaced manual tasks. Used Server Automation applications developed by HP like HPOO, HPSA and Sparx to automate tasks.
