Hello🌻 I'm Karol, a curious Costa Rican scientist. I characterize myself for being perseverant in the challenges that arise, 🪂 adapting to conditions, being results-oriented, proactive and always looking for creative ways to solve problems. I like the organization, foundation and planning of the experimental processes before executing them. I am also very passionate about the expansion and transfer of scientific knowledge to foster the generation of innovative ideas and biotechnological alternatives. 👩🏻‍🔬 As a scientist, I have eight years of experience working in academic and clinical laboratories. I also have teaching experience in basic microbiology laboratories. During this experiences I have not only learned multiple genetic and protein techniques in bacterial and archaean organisms, but also develop multiple soft skills such as critical thinking, time management, scientific communication, etc. 🔋 My interest is in biotechnological research. I aspire to contribute to the sustainable advancement of biotechnology in environmental, health, and industrial problems. I am currently doing research in the biochemistry of an archaeal protein with potential use in the biodiesel industry.🚵🏻‍♀️ In addition to my fascination with the microscopic world and its applications, I am also an outdoor person, I love sports, especially hiking in mountains and waterfalls, I like to appreciate nature and share a coffee at sunset.
