I worked with the management, planning and implementation of campaigns, events and communication efforts targeting transpeople and men who have sex with men (MSM), as well as young people. My work included research, (internal/external) communication, project management, economic planning and strategic planning. I was also responsible for the organization's norm critical approach, including norm criticism in projects and building and developing norm critical qualifications in-house. The primary goals of my work at AIDS-Fondet was to decrease the number of new HIV infections among the Danish population and to eliminate discrimination of people living with HIV. Specifically, I focused on these goals within the trans* and MSM-communities.

Working with human rights and global health this internship gave me opportunities to develop amongst other my communication skills such as public speaking, negotiations and official writing, networking skills, and skills within multilateral diplomacy and organisational work. Among the activities from the human rights team were the 24th session of the Human Rights Council and the 17th session of the Human Rights Council Universal Periodic Review. During the sessions I amongst other participated in writing, reviewing and reading Norwegian statements, as well as negotiating resolutions. In the global health team, my main tasks included representation of Norway at resolution drafting sessions, and I had extensive independent responsibilities in developing the Mission's policy response in the LGBTI (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex) and non-state actors field.
