Profile bio

About Karla Prewitt

I am a skilled Administrator with a passion for helping others. Enlisting in the military gave me limitless opportunities to reach out and assist those regardless of the need. I took great pride in seeing all staff members succeed due to my commitment and involvement in their personal and professional development. After the military, I found I could make a difference in local government. As the Coordinator for the Board of Zoning Appeals, I handled conflicts or hardships that evolved from the administration and enforcement of the Zoning Ordinance. Next I was promoted to Program Manager for a Youth Partnership Program. I enjoyed recruiting, training, and developing leadership skills for community youth. My current position allows me to authorize and approve qualified applicants requests for basic necessities (healthcare and food). In addition, clients are linked to other community resources/services not offered by the agency. It is very rewarding to know families will not go without basic provisions. Overall, my past positons have fulfilled my passion to help others. Earning a Master of Public Administration equipped me with the skills to better understand government’s responsibility in terms of public service. In June of 2015, I earned my Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Health Care Management. After receiving my degree, I earned several Six Sigma and Project Management certificates and currently studying for a Six Sigma Black Belt certification. I am sure many people have the education and similar experience that would qualify them for a position in healthcare management. However, what sets me apart is my passion and determination to make a difference. I am looking for an opportunity to work with an organization that uses to up-to-date information and best practices to stay abreast of this evolving industry.
