Hi there and welcome to A Touch of Whimsy! Repurposed Furniture, Upcycled Furniture, Vintage, Antiques, Collectibles, Household Decor I always have had a love for all things crafty. My Grandma was an artist and I would spend time with her painting landscapes, flowers, and anything else that tickled our fancy. As the years went on, I started painting hand me downs & found furniture to update my home on a single Moms budget. That led to friends and family asking if I would update pieces for them too.Fast forward years later, I met a wonderful man, married and we added to our family. Being a military family, we decided with everything that comes with the life, I would stay at home with our littles until the littlest little started Kindergarten. With that date creeping up (alot quicker then this Momma might be ready for) I realized I didn’t want to go back to the corporate world. I enjoyed the flexibility of being able to work from home. My husband and I had a very heartfelt discussion and he fully supported my crazy idea to turn my hobby into a successful business (even if it’s taken over the house). When brainstorming a name for the business, “A Touch of Whimsy” kept coming up in conversation due to my love to add “just a little extra” to my painted pieces, whether it be unexpected lined drawers, stenciling, or hardware. I enjoy giving my clients just a little touch of something more they can’t find purchasing from a big box store.Beyond furniture, I enjoy creating unique pieces of home decor including rusted metal decor, trays, and the occasional fresh off the farm, hard to find item!If you have a piece of furniture that needs a little freshening up or you’re looking for just the right piece to add to your home, I'd love to chat with you about creating something special for you!
