Changing the world together takes simple but radical ideas:-Abandon the idea of "Do unto others as you'd have done to you" and instead do MORE for others than we'd expect for ourselves. We live in a one-upmanship world. What if we took that greedy idea and used it to better humanity?-Leave each place better than you found it, an old Girl Scout tenet, doesn't just have to be about places. What if we applied it to people too? What would be the result if we tried to build up every person we interact with? -"Bucket filling" was fashionable when my kids were in elementary school. "Caught you being good" was a thing when I was in high school. What if we lived our lives filling each other's buckets? Not by clicking like on photos on social media, but by truly connecting with people to make sure they are okay, they have all of their needs met, including the need to be seen, heard, and loved.-At the end of Schindler's List, Schindler realizes how much more he could have done, how many more lives he could have saved, if he had just sold one ring, one car, one... What if we change our values to live every moment like that last moment for Arthur Schindler? Look at your Amazon cart. Do you need that scarf, or could you use the one you already have and give the money you just saved to help someone experiencing homelessness? When you are filling your cart full of groceries and using your coupons and store sales, maybe you look at your weekly savings and send that amount to a food pantry. Don't let greed and consumption consume you until it is too late. There is too much inequality in the world. My life passion is working to reduce those inequalities. We must amplify and empower people affected by inequality. People who benefit from status quo must fight the harmful impact that has for long-term community sustainability. We need to work together for lasting, world altering change to be possible.I am not perfect. I have a lot of work to do to improve how I live out my own words. If I never start, what are the consequences? I am not willing to find out. Are you?
