Growing up, I was constantly creating - stories, art, theatre, choir; give me anything artsy and I probably dabbled in it. In middle school I discovered my real passion - web development and coding. I taught myself how to code websites using HTML and CSS. I couldn't imagine doing anything different with my life. Coding allows me to use my creative side and my technical. I love being able to create something and just see it.I recently graduated Calvin College with a BS in Computer Science. During my years at Calvin, I was involved in the Calvin Theatre Company and I worked at the local cafe/grill, Johnny's. I ended up becoming a leader (of sorts) in both. I became a Student Manager at Johnny's due to my experience and knowledge. At the Theatre Company (CTC), even though I enjoy acting, I ended up costume running for most shows starting the first semester of my freshman year. I was crew head for a couple of shows and co-head for a few more. I ended up leaving CTC with an Artistic Leadership award for my work and care. I have experience working with all sorts of people and communicating effectively with them.In regards to my technical skills, I have a particular fondness for C-based languages and code with them in my free-time. I've dabbled in a lot of programming languages and programs, as I have a desire to learn anything technology. I've been working as a service desk technician for the past two years, building my troubleshooting skills and technical knowledge.My work ethic is the strongest skill I possess. No matter how little the job is, I care strongly about doing my job thoroughly and correctly. This allows me to learn quickly and take care of how well I am doing at any particular job.
