Teaching English to adults as one of the school's trainers. cXc | crossXculture provides in-house language training to corporate clients in presence and online and has preferred supplier status with some multinational corporations. [crossXculture today combines three basic elements: a strong devotion for sharing language and culture, improved training conditions for students and trainers, and a strong focus on customer service.] Our recent move from Frankfurt am Main to Marne, Nordsee, has allowed the school to grow while keeping customer rates at affordable levels.

English language half- and full-day workshops, e.g. in Germany, Switzerland and the United States in cooperation with Kreuzer Training, Wiesbaden. Teaching enhanced communication skills and sales techniques to international trade fair staff, based on the Kreuzer training scheme. Conducting booth performance analysis at various exhibitions.

Contract work for language institutes in greater Frankfurt, e.g. Academia Suarez, Business Language Center, Kern, etc. In-company language training for various corporate clients, e.g. Deutsche Bank, Commerzbank, Zürich, Bilfinger, etc. [Although trainer rates were higher in Frankfurt than in Hamburg, freelance trainers still found it hard to live on their income. I felt that it was time for a language school that would improve this.]

Teaching English language business correspondence courses in order to prepare learners for IHK (Chamber of Commerce) examinations. [After working at a computer for 3 years, being back in the classroom came as a revelation. The feeling was right, but my income was not. Although I was well-respected as a trainer, I was hardly able to afford the rent for my apartment.]

Devising, writing and editing German and English language operating manuals for TV-sets and accessories made for the German and North American market. Establishing and maintaining text corpora and databases for multi-language documents, working with DTP and translation software on Mac OS 8 to 10. [I enjoyed writing professionally in both languages, however, I strongly missed the personal contact I had experienced in teaching and academics.]

Teaching basic English language skills, freelance and privately to school and university students of all ages, e.g. for Studienkreis, Schülerhilfe and Abacus in Bayreuth. Private tutoring to individual students in greater Bayreuth. [Language training was just one way for me to shore up some cash as a university student. When full-fledged fellow school teachers asked me to explain English grammar phenomena to them I noticed that I really had some talent.]

Teaching basic English language skills (vocabulary, grammar, communication skills) to pupils. [In the beginning I just taught a few lessons a week to friends of friends and fellow students. I was not yet planning on making it my career.]
