Karsten is fascinated by exploring and productionizing innovative, advanced analytics approaches to solve business problems for marketers, without the need to call a data scientist first. Topics of interest include market insights platforms, market & competitive intelligence, contextual & content marketing, self-learning to facilitate both relevant & profitable interactions, cross-channel marketing attribution, marketing performance optimization, and automated analytic data preparation. Karsten is working in SAS’ global customer intelligence product management and shares responsibility for driving applied analytics apps in the next-generation SAS Customer Intelligence offering. Before transferring to a global role, he served as a business expert for customer analytics, integrated marketing management, digital intelligence, and social media analytics at SAS Germany and worked with marketers across industries. Prior to joining SAS, Karsten worked as a research and teaching assistant at HHL – Leipzig Graduate School of Management and sparked students’ interest for commercial data mining and e-business. Karsten holds a doctoral degree in computer science, focused on text mining for semantic text annotation, and a diploma in business administration.
