• Develop, recommend, administer, and monitor accounting policies, procedures, and processes in support of the financial operations of the business• Manage and oversee the company’s general ledger accounting activities in accordance with ASPE guidelines• Prepare monthly financial statements along with variance analysis and interpretations to guide effective decision-making• Prepare monthly reconciliations and post adjusting journal entries when needed• Prepare and ensure accuracy of related-company billings and reconciliation of accounts• Maintain fixed assets, deferred revenue (guest deposits) and other continuity schedules• Identify efficiencies and opportunities for cost reductions across the business• Monitor process for the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Financial Accounting functions, and drives continuous improvement activities in front office.• Oversee departmental cash management, bank account administration and petty cash operations• Oversee reconciliation of data interface from guest reservation and POS systems to the accounting system• Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day accounting, invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable & Accounts receivable, cash management, inventory integrity, fixed assets, payroll, financial reporting• Oversee accounts payable by ensuring appropriate approvals, entry of invoices, payments, and related reconciliations (Third party)• Ensure compliance of required filings with WorkSafeBC, Canada Revenue Agency, and provincial Ministry of Finance• Guide financial decisions for senior management by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures.
