Project Engineer/ManagerEcodyne Heat Exchangers Aug 2013 - Oct 2014Houston, Texas Area• Managed design and construction of Air Cooled Heat exchangers (fin-fan coolers) with ancillary products of $8 Million project value to domestic and international customers in both Energy and Oil& Gas markets.• Successfully performed design calculations per ASME section VIII Div 1, API 661, and building codes such IBC, UBC and ASCE 7. Suitability used ASME B16.5 for flanges, ASME B31.3 and B31.1 for process piping designs.• Knowledgeable in reading and applying Process Data Sheets, PFD's, and P&ID's.• Successfully executed Rotor Air cooler FEA/CFD evaluation and obtained CRN for Heat Exchanger box type header designs for operations in -58 deg F ambient design conditions.• Drove continuous improvement of key product offerings to such as Rotor air coolers, Cooling Water Modules and Lube Oil coolers. – Customer, GE, Siemens, and Rolls Royce. -
Product Development ManagerMysore Engineering Enterprises Apr 2010 - Aug 2013Bengaluru Area, India• Successfully Designed Gas coolers (Shell & Tube Type) for Centrifugal Compressors to dissipate heat load of upto 1MW and to withstand an internal pressure of up to 100 bar, temperature of upto 2000 C using ASME Section VIII Div1 design code (PV Elite). Managed the process from initial concepting, through to Pneumatic product testing against Helium leaks. Worked with complex material combinations like cladded Cupro-Nickel plates on boiler quality steel, naval brass with RILSAN Coating, Titanium and various grades of Stainless Steel. Also familiar with designing coolers that use lethal substances (e.g.: Carbon-Monoxide). – customer, Atlas Copco, India• Established a robust design methodology for designing Shell & Tube Heat exchangers of 500kW of heat dissipation along with Plug-in Oil coolers generally conforming to API 661 standards used in large Hydro and Turbo generator oil cooling. Design concepts finalized through use of RCSWin – customer Alstom, India, France• Improved the efficiency of existing series of industrial fans by 10% used in mid-size motor forced cooling units by optimizing on a combination of input design parameters like blade angle, rpm, internal & external diameters. – customer, Emerson Industrial Automation, France, India• Designed Air-Water (TEWAC), coolers of upto 1MW cooling capacity for Steam Turbine Generators and Air-Air (TEAAC) coolers with centrifugal fans for large motor cooling. Oversaw activities of a team of designers to deliver about 120 units annually. - customer ABB India, Finland• Developed and implemented a new fabrication process for 2.1MW wind generator bodies required for a high endurance life of >15 years.– customer, Emerson Industrial Automation, India, France & China
