Kartikeya Bector is a Career Development Head at Columbia University Robotics Club (Curc). He possess expertise in leadership, mathematics, friction stir welding, robot operating system, taguchi and 48 more skills. He is proficient in German, Sanskrit, Punjabi and Hindi. Kartikeya worked as a Mechatronics intern at Vimaan, where he served a crucial role in the development of our hardware platform. His list of accomplishments includes designing/conducting experiments to determine optimal lighting and camera conditions for high velocity data capture, developing a lighting visualization tool in Python for simulating beam patterns, and writing a script using OpenCV for automating image capture. For the lighting experiments, he designed the electromechanical setup for easily controlling velocity and light intensity. All these successes led to a deeper understanding of the integration of light and camera systems to capture the highest quality data for our computer vision models. Using the tools that he developed, we can now easily configure a light and camera system knowing that it will meet the given requirements. In addition, Kartikeya always brings a positive attitude to work and is highly motivated to solve whatever the next challenge brings. He is an effective communicator and works well as part of a team. He can also quickly pick up new skills as needed for the task at hand.
