• Designed state-of-the-art of terahertz (THz), THz difference-frequency generation (DFG), and Mid-IR quantum cascade lasers (QCLs).• Demonstrated the first electrically-pumped, room-temperature, mass-producible semiconductor source tunable from 1 – 6 THz. • Published in high impact journals (i.e. Nature Comm., APL) and awarded best student paper & presentation at the leading IR-THz conference.• Co-wrote and submitted three patents relating to difference-frequency generation in QCLs.• Expert in nonlinear optical modeling in semiconductors (i.e. Raman, DFG, SHG) • Proficient in COMSOL Multiphysics for electromagnetic and thermal modeling in structures• Adept at fabrication and packaging of III-V semiconductor lasers in Class 100/1000 clean room. • Hands-on experience in electrical, optical and spectral characterization of Mid-IR and THz radiation sources using various electronics, detectors, spectrometers, etc.
