Leadership and management of a team of four lawyers.The Manager, Legal Services (Regulatory) role provides strategic legal advice on significant or high-risk/high-profile matters to senior leaders and elected members, as well as oversight and management of litigation.

Areas of law include: Public and Administrative Law, Employment Law and Industrial Relations, Health and Safety, COVID-19 legislation, Privacy and Official Information.

Direct leadership and management of the Legal, Information Requests and Official Correspondence functions, with nine direct reports (including six lawyers) and six indirect reports:- The Legal Team covers a wide range of legal practice areas including operational emergency response, public and administrative law, health and safety, employment law, complex contracts and procurement, property, ICT, privacy and official information, and compliance and enforcement. - The Information Requests Team manages and responds to legal requests or demands for information including requests under the Privacy and Official Information Acts, requests from other regulators and court orders.- The Official Correspondence function manages significant correspondence with Fire and Emergency's unions and associations, and other correspondence requiring national coordination.The Chief Legal Advisor role provides legal advice on complex or high-risk/high-profile matters to staff and management, the Executive Leadership Team and Chief Executive, as well as the Board.The Chief Legal Advisor is also Fire and Emergency's Privacy Officer, with responsibility for driving good privacy practice and receiving and assessing reported privacy issues and complaints.

Strategic leadership role that sought to transform the way the Department works with women in prison and on community sentences/orders.

Governance role of a non-profit/charity providing support and low-cost temporary housing to women on low incomes or in transition.

Policy areas: housing and tenancy, and occupational regulation.

MBIE's Women in Leadership Committee is a volunteer run group established by employees to encourage women at MBIE to take opportunities to lead, influence and achieve their career goals.This was a volunteer role carried out in addition to full time roles at MBIE, and included chairing meetings, developing strategy for the committee and organising seminars on relevant topics.
