Conduct collection of field samples from aquatic, atmospheric geologic environments. This includes:o Construction monitoring - dust monitoring and noise monitoring;o Deployment, collection, calibration and maintenance of High Volume (Hi-Vol) sampling equipment for Total Suspended Particulate (TSP) and PM 2.5o Deployment, collection and reading of passive radon and passive gamma monitoring equipment, an Electrets Ion Chamber or E-PERMs. o Groundwater sampling and monitoring program, which includes groundwater chemistry: temperature, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, pH and conductivity;o Installation and data collection of data from pressure transducers used to monitoring groundwater level fluctuations;o Stream surface water and sediment sampling;Lake Ontario surface water sampling;o Storm event surface water sampling in local rivers and creeks;Other duties include:o Aiding in the preparation of operating instructions for all environmental field sampling and equipment used. o An active member of the Health and Safety Committee.o Participated in public open house by demonstrations of field equipment and answering visitor’s questions

o Coordinated the completion of information requests and actions from the CNSC (Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission) and the Ontario Ministry of the Environment (MOE) with various departments within the facility;o Conducted plant tours and site visits with CNSC Staff;o Compiled and analyzed environmental data and prepared and edited annual and quarterly environmental reports;o Site organizer and facilitator of process hazard assessments;o Organized the completion and follow up of process hazard assessments;o Responded to and investigated environmental incidents;o Compiled and analyzed environmental data from significant site remediation project;o Reviewed and approved job hazard assessments;o Participated in pre-start safety reviews for newly installed process equipment;o Participated in the corrective actions group for the analysis of near misses and events and completed apparent cause analysis investigations;o Conducted routine site tours to ensure environmental compliance;o Conducted training for apparent cause analysis investigations, environmental awareness and annual environmental update for facility; ando Created various presentations, including speaker’s notes, for the environmental department, including quarterly presentations to the public.

o Conducted Phase I and Phase II Environmental Assessments at various locations, including residential developments, commercial establishments and manufacturing facilities;o Monitored the phases of remediation numerous sites in southwestern Ontario including groundwater monitoring, field surveying, elevation analysis and soil sampling;o Conducted hydraulic monitoring and testing at long term monitoring locations;o Collected and analyzed soil and groundwater sample results to recommend extent of site clean-up which included soil removal;o Contacted various personnel in public and private sector as part of Phase I, II and III Environmental Site Assessments;o Supervised external contractors during small and large-scale excavation projects, as well as underground storage tank removal;o Sampled soil from pit and trench excavations;o Conducted borehole installation and sample logging;o Oversaw external contractors for drilling activities, which included: contractor for underground utility locates, drilling contractors and remediation specialists;o Collected required groundwater and soil samples throughout borehole drilling and monitoring well installation;o Performed field surveying and groundwater elevation analysis at various sites throughout southwestern Ontario; andConducted Designated Substance Surveys (D-Sub’s) and Asbestos surveys in elementary and high schools.

o Performed heat stress, sound level, light and radiation (alpha, beta and gamma) monitoring for industrial processes; o Collected Municipal/Industrial Strategy for Abatement (MISA) and effluent water samples;o Conducted quality control of respirators used throughout the facility; o Collected and entered data from the facility to monitor the health and safety of the industrial production areas; ando Used WHMIS training and MSDS programs while entering production areas.

o Took inventory for the CNSC and IAEA audits;o Coordinated regular mail and package pick-up and delivery to all departments throughout the facility; ando Organized the repainting of various departments and production areas of the facility.
