I’m a hands-on editor of a wide range of nonfiction with two decades of experience at New York publishing houses. My specialty is strategy: figuring out how to get the most useful and valuable stories into the hands of as many people as possible. For books, this means publishing into the space where smart and commercial overlap. I commission projects, help authors find big ideas, and acquire to extend the reach of Grand Central's list in narrative nonfiction, biography, memoir, business, and elevated self-help. I have worked with multiple New York Times and national bestselling authors including: Tina Brown, Kitty Kelley, Ayelet Waldman, Tim Weiner, Nancy Pelosi, Sally Jenkins, Jennifer Armstrong, Abigail Tucker, Graeme Simsion, Steven Rowley, Megan Miranda, Catherine Ryan Hyde, Rob Moor, Mike Rowe, Sara Bareilles, and Twyla Tharp. Many of my acquisitions reflect a psychological element, or offer a provocative point of view and spark reflection. I'm drawn to books about mental health, habit, motivation, and the brain--and currently on the hunt for journalists who can unpack social issues through story.
