In this firm I mostly work on the VRT-project. This project is the national broadcast centre of the Flemish part of Belgium with a budget of 200 million. I've joined the project in the permit-phase. This grand-scale project is a 'bouwteam'-project, which means that all the different disciplines work closely together to reach a good outcome, architecturally, financially and technically. Alone for the designing bouwteam there are more than 20 firms and offices involved. I work in collaboration with a highly experienced senior project architect and another project architect. Other people connected to the project are a BIM-coordinator and a team of draftsmen and modelers. My role is:- Coordinating the design project as executive architect: from permit to execution.- Managing a team of four draftsmen and modelers within the BIM process.- Supervising the construction process with the construction team: with the contractors, structural and climate engineers, both on site and in the meeting room.- Brain storming with all partners and the political parties involved to come up with a concept that is supported by all stakeholders, parties and the user.This big puzzle of a project has already taught me a lot about managing the interests of all parties involved, directing different disciplines in construction, and discussing topics regarding the financial, architectural and structural frame of the overall construction.See also the links attached.

Working this period as a freelancer in collaboration with some other freelance architects.I have done a few assignments for private clients, especially studies and building permits.

In general the works ranges from architectural propositions and execution management. This includes the elaborated design, and the gathering and approving of all the necessary licences at the municipality and government. End of May 2020 I had finished my traineeship. I continued working on the apartment tower Belgica in Temse (near Antwerp) as a project architect and coordinator. View the link attached for more information.Other projects where I leaded together with another architect: apartment blocks -design & build-', a sustainable co-housing concept in Brussels and architectural and security elaborations for the Bavarian embassy.

I started with feasibility studies & competition design. One of the main projects was a huge transnational competition project for designing the new seat and headquarters of the European Commission. My team and I have won the third prize in this competition.
