I volunteer in Childcare, which is for children whose parents are involved in Perspectives' Programs. The activities and experiences provided are meant to foster skills such as socialization, independence, and self-esteem. Volunteers are responsible to help plan and participate in activities with children. As the Director of Youth Enagement, I focused on Alumni Relations and Ambassador Recruitment initiatives. I developed processes and implemented tools to mobilize recent HOBY MN Alumni to double the number of schools participating in the annual Leadership Seminar throughout the state of MN.My role as a Group Facilitator was to guide high school Sophomores through discussion and internal reflection during the weekend-long Leadership Seminar, and throughout the following 12 months. The focus was to help them develop their communication and leadership styles - in a challenging but safe environment.The Cheers Dinner is an annual celebration and fundraising event to showcase the best of the HOBY MN Alumni and Community Leaders.HOBY MN is a volunteer driven organization with the vision to motivate and empower individuals to make a positive difference within our global society through understanding and action based on effective and compassionate leadership.
