I love challenges and learning, so I am extremely grateful to be working for Hartwick and Co here in Kamloops, BC. As an accounting clerk and bookkeeper, I am constantly being met with new clients, methods and ideas that help me grow my skills! What I been learning: • Organization skills are extremely important to me and I make it a point to keep on top of clients and the work that needs to be done by using spreadsheets and calendaring. Knowing that deadlines need to be met and when, helps keep our office running smoothly and I am happy to be a part of that teamwork. • I have excellent communication skills and love to help people with their bookkeeping. I am always happy to listen and offer solutions and problem solve when needed. I know the importance of keeping track of finances. • Having a Bachelor's Degree in English has also helped me tremendously as I need to communicate with clients every day. It helps me to organize and write clearly and concisely. • I have become proficient with Quickbooks Online and Desktop and also work with Sage Accounting Software to organize client bookkeeping. I have also been increasing my knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets as many of our clients prefer to use these for their bookkeeping. At tax time we use Profile and Caseware software to complete all tax returns. My love of computers and technology has helped me every day as I try to learn new tech skills to increase my proficiency at work.It has been a pleasure to work for my company as my co-workers are knowledgeable, helpful and so fun to work with. They make our office a great place to be. I look forward to learning and becoming more efficient in the future as I continue to work at Hartwick and Co.
