Technical Officer/Meteorological Observer working as part of the Bureau's NOO network. Completion of BMTC training followed by Antarctic fieldwork undertaking meteorological observing and technical support for safe operational and aviation activities at Australian Antarctic and Sub Antarctic stations

Three month part time remote volunteer role conducted outside of regular employment assisting NGO Coreplan Tanzania in establishing a broader water supply network throughout remote Tanzanian schools. The aim to is develop project team capacity in grant writing and applications and improving and upscaling existing water supply and sanitation projects. Assignment facilitated through the Australian Volunteers Program.

Working remotely from Australia as a part time volunteer, partnering with EWB Australia and the Cambodian Rural Development Team in Phnom Penh providing assistance in the environmental engineering/water supply/sanitation spaceProjects include rural water supply, hard ground sanitation, rural drinking water guideline development, CRDT Dolphin Ecotourism, ASU Sanitation project. Highlights include assisting the team to secure a $15,000 USD grant from UNDP for solar pumping technology development to be utilised in an EWB water supply project in Koh Tnout, Kratie Province and presenting with the team at the Australian Volunteers Program Global Webinar Series for World Water Day.

Working under the Regulatory Operations Metro North team undertaking regulation at licensed and unlicensed premises. Undertaking site inspections and regulatory activities at Open Cut and Underground Mines, Materials Recovery Facilities, Quarries, Ports and other various industries within the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Hunter Valley regions. Predominantly administering the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997, Contaminated Land Management Act 1997 and the Pesticides Act 1999.Sabbatical undertaken in Oct 2021 to undertake short term contract at AAD.

Short term contract for 2021-2022 Casey Station Summer Season conducting fieldworks for the environmental remediation of legacy hydrocarbon contamination as part of the Australian Antarctic Program

Working in the Contamination Assessment and Remediation team undertaking contaminated lands and hazardous materials projects

A 6 month transfer to the Houston TX office, cut short 3 months in due to COVID-19. Working on desktop Phase 1 assessments, managing a groundwater injection event at a former gas plant and completing groundwater monitoring reports utilising Texas Railroad Commission, US EPA and TCEQ guidelines. Experience working on projects in New Mexico, Texas and Louisiana.

Contamination Assessment and Remediation Team

Working as part of the Contamination Assessment and Remediation team, undertaking both practical on-site tasks (drilling, testpitting and both surface and groundwater sampling) and office based tasks (data entry and analysis, reporting)

Assisting in the completion of small scale rehabilitation projects, collating and drawing trends from site environmental monitoring data, completion of Water Accounting Framework, water sampling and data analysis associated with site water discharge events

Completing and observing tasks primarily centred around the core areas of Environmental Monitoring, Reporting & Compliance, Water Management, Mine Rehabilitation and Mine Subsidence.
