A club I used to attend as a young person myself. Started off as a volunteer at the age of 16 before applying for the job at 18. FUSION used to be Cambridgeshire County Council run, before becoming its own Charity in 2015: FUSION Family & Projects. I was also asked to do one to one positive activity sessions outside of FUSION with young people from caseloads as a Youth Worker (FUSION has come to a temporary close during Covid-19).

Facilitate the delivery and management of Clubs across the county. Providing a range of services, support and short breaks to disabled children and young people and families.

HERE:NOW was a new project launched by Cambridgeshire County Council within our team at Huntingdon Youth Centre. A short term Mental Health drop in and early help intervention for young people experiencing mental health, depression, suicidal thoughts, anxiety and low mood. Offered free advice, a comfortable space, one to one positive activity support, group work, mindfulness therapy, pet therapy, sports and one to one confidential counselling sessions with professionals.

KICK Adventures (3 month part time contract). Personal development programme that supported learning outside of the classroom environment for young people from schools. Workshops to help deal with stress, anger, emotions, communication, teamwork and respect, to promoting positive aspirations.

Part time bar work, waitressing and preparing food in the kitchen as an assistant whilst studying at University. Stayed on longer to help until after Christmas due to lots of staff having left.

Bar work and waitressing. I was headhunted whilst having a birthday meal for my 18th by the manager. I worked here part time for two years whilst studying at University.

14-month training programme. Once completed, awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work enabling you to apply to register and practice.
