  • Carrying out physical Oil Tankers safety inspections/audits calling at Vopak Terminal and keeping log of vessels according to the dates, size, number of observations and other criteria.• Responsible for communicating and following up with the vessels' owners/managers for the corrective/preventive actions.• Acting as mooring/loading master on board Oil Tanker vessels & carrying out berthing, unberthing and cargo operations.• Carrying out loading master duties on board tankers during cargo loading/unloading operations as/when required.• Involved in Oil Majors’ auditing of the marine terminal based on OCIMF MTMSA.• Accepting or rejecting vessels at SPM and jetties.• Helping as response team member after an incident in taking immediate appropriate actions and later in incident investigation and analysis.• Prepared and successfully implemented operational safety inspection process of vessels for the Terminal based on OCIMF SIRE.• Training and evaluating new loading masters/operators in the tanker familiarization, safety procedures, related company policies and procedures, onboard systems & ship-shore interface.• Conducting the in-field assessment of the Terminal's loading masters.• Liaising with Port Authorities for marine related activities, surveys, certifications.• Monitor vessel movements using CCTV and radio communication (UHF/VHF) systems and directing the vessels according to the situation as and when required.• Revision of related policies and procedures in line with the industry best practices.• Coordinating with diving company for inspections prior to berthing and un-berthing.• Stepping in and resolving during any unexpected interruption or situation from the ships while at berth.• Ensuring smooth operation at SPM by coordinating and monitoring the spares.• Requisitioning required spares and materials as needed for maintaining SPM spares.• Handling the general shift activities in the absence of General Shift /Marine Supervisor.
