Government of Punjab in collaboration with World Bank (WB) and multiple implementing agencies has launched the Punjab Resource Improvement and Digital Effectiveness (PRIDE) Program with a total funding of USD 304 Million over five years. The main objective of the Program is “to increase Own Source Revenue and improve reliability of resource allocations and access to digital services for people and firms in the province of Punjab”.My responsibilities included, to prepare and submit to the Bank regular monitoring reports on the Environmental, Social, Health & Safety (ESHS) performance of the Project, including the implementation of the ESCP, status of preparation and implementation of E&S documents required under the ESCP, stakeholder engagement activities, functioning of the grievance mechanism(s) and COVID-19 related considerations as per requirements. To promptly notify the WB about any incident/accident related to the Project, which has, or is likely to have, a significant adverse effect on the environment,. Update, adopt, & implement, the ESSA recommendations,. Prepare the E&S Screening Checklist for Technical Assistance component. To identify the potential risks, impacts & mitigation measures. Prepare & implement a Social Management Framework. Develop & implement procedures for managing contractors & subcontractors and thereafter ensure that contractors comply with said procedures. Develop & implement Covid-19 specific Community Health & Safety Procedures. Conduct virtual consultations to revisit and strengthen the SEP and re-disclose. Review the current GRM/PCP and strengthen it as per ESS10 requirements and local laws. Through P&D and Finance Department monitor the operational effectiveness of the GRM as per requirements of ESS10.
