As an HPC DevOps Systems Engineer, I lead the conception, planning, and implementation of cross-university High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems. My role involves designing distributed, georedundant HPC systems, overseeing their procurement and implementation, and developing comprehensive operating concepts. I collaborate closely with project partners and specialist departments to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance. With a strong background in Linux operating systems and IT system administration, I bring practical experience and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Working in a corporate environment of Global Data Center Operations Team to look after all the Linux servers running in a Virtual hosted and cloud environment to provide 24/7 on-prem, on the cloud, and client support.Major Resposibilities:-Provisioning servers for the new deployments.-Update and patch systems with security hardening and maintaining standard images.-Deployment of applications and applying patches.-Writing Ansible playbooks and managing its different roles.-Managing McAfee ePO Anti Virus across the Organization.-Maintaining the standard Repository to download the latest updates.-Optimizing systems for the best performance and maintaining 100% uptime.-Resolving routine based system issues and helping development teams.-Managing AWS infrastructure to provision new instances and managing other roles.-Maintaining VMWare Hosts in terms VMs deployments and adding new hosts.-Managing systems inventory, backups, and monitoring.
