About Sien Ka-Shing
I love building stuff, period. I would say that is largely thanks to the amazing roles I had in my past that allowed me a fair bit of creative freedom, which in turn allowed me to experiment, fail and learn quickly. This definitely helped me cultivate a sense of possibility for all things, impossible. As the saying goes, you never know until you try.So in September 2018, I decided to do just that - To Try. I starting writing my first line of code for what is to become SmollTalk, a platform that helps people connect with each other through interests and conversations. The journey was definitely rough, but I believed having a purpose larger than yourself definitely helped me through those times - which was to make the world a little less lonely.After months of work, and practically learning every piece of technology and framework on the fly, SmollTalk is now available on both the Android and iOS platforms. Yay!As for my other commitments, I still play an active, albeit part time role as a System Consultant for E-Business IT Sdn Bhd, as I still have a lot of domain expertise in the technology. Learning to manage that time is challenging, but nevertheless I am very grateful to have been allowed the freedom to pursue my own passions on the side as well.
