• Did a POC on Istio service mesh implementation into Kubernetes cluster. Installed and configured Istio service mesh, configured Istio monitoring dashboards like Prometheus, Kiali, Grafana, and configured different virtualservices and destination rules to avoid canary release and traffic control limitations in the existing architecture.• Designed an efficient way of scaling k8s pods in the Istio service mesh using CPU-based autoscaling, Time based autoscaling, and requests/traffic-based autoscaling with the help of Prometheus metrics.• Configured various AWS components like IAM, VPC, EC2, ElasticBeanStalk, CodeDeploy, CodeCommit, CloudWatch monitoring tool, Workspaces, Cloud Formation templates, Lambda functions, S3, Autoscaling, and Elasticache with replication.• Installed and configured AWS Route53 for registering the domain names and also performed health checks on the resources.• Developed Ansible playbooks that fetch application configuration properties during boot time of EC2 servers.• Automated AWS cloud deployments by creating Terraform Templates and using Continuous Integration and Continuous deployment framework to auto-deploy which saved 3-4 of human hours for every release.• Deployed Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) components using Terraform which includes: Subnet, Security groups, NAT gateways, Route tables; EC2 instances; Elasticache; ASG; ALB, ALB listeners, configuring listener rules, Target groups upon which Java applications are deployed.• Lead a POC on upgrading existing application servers (EC2 which are x86 based) to new generation AWS Graviton servers (EC2 which are ARM-based) which are more cost-efficient.• With Python scripting, designed an efficient and dynamic load balancing technique to stabilize the load across the AWS elasticache nodes.• Implemented Twistlock scan into CI/CD pipeline of microservices which scans all docker images for OS and application-related security vulnerabilities before pushing them to AWS ECR repository.
