One of a team of nine, I helped provide the full gamut of communications services to diverse audiences.Strategic planning and implementation - I acted as the project manager for a minimum of 30 projects and 4 campaigns per year, and represented my department on 3 strategy teams for community engagements in climate action, social response, and arts and culture. Advisor - I have advised and supported the CEO, 21 managers, 35+ lead library workers for communications planning and community engagements, presentations, writing, and editing, and have led organizational public imaging, key messaging, and issues management as well as being the lead for media relations, e.g. strategy, training (regional and national), media releases, pitches, briefs, and interview prep. Presenter and writer - I have presented virtual and in-person workshops to internal, regional, and national audiences, and have written and edited of contributed content to 3 news outlets, such as articles, reviews, and radio guest spots, as well as copy for diverse audiences for web and social.

In a team of four, I lead all communications and marketing strategies and plans for Halifax Jazz Festival, JazzEast in-year concerts and workshops, and Creative Music Workshop.My top five proudest moments are: 1. Achieving a three-year plan to re-energize the festival's image; 2. Successfully managing the rebranding and website redesign for both festival and association3. Turning the annual festival launch into a must-attend media and community event4. Identifying a way for us to expand our agreement for better brand integration and increased revenue;5. Sitting among a small team I had built and feeling love for each one of them.

The fairy godmother to many musicians and industry professionals due to my fair-sized purse filled with $300,000 for granting, which was replenished every year by the Province of Nova Scotia. This metaphorical purse was the Export Development Program for Music, which aided emerging and exporting professionals in the expansion of their music careers. In addition, I was the Atlantic representative for the national funding body, FACTOR. All of this meant making sure stakeholders were very happy and confident in the administration of the program; knowing who to select for juries and in what combinations; and reporting all of the successes in a manner that was easy to share in a ministerial speech.

We started as a team of two and expanded into a fluctuating team of 6-9 depending on the time of year.Monumental success:The Music Sector Strategy was informed by province-wide member consultations and transformed into a success that is still in place today: Export Development Program for Music.Fundamental achievement:I was hired specifically for membership growth and rejuvenation. Oh did we shake things up by expanding and changing the scene.

I love CKDU, our campus-community radio station. Brought in music for programming, volunteers to program and created ads/promos/station IDs for airing. (1996-1998). Took a break for work in the US and came back to run its current affairs programming. (1999-2000)
