With over a decade of experience advancing human rights, gender justice, and transitional justice across conflict-affected societies, African universities, the African Human Rights System, and the criminal justice system, I have collaborated with community-based, national, and international organisations, drawing on my expertise as a researcher and programme implementer. I bring expertise in programme design and management, advocacy, policy analysis, and research, with a particular emphasis on gendered violations and human rights issues affecting vulnerable personsDuring my formative years at the Justice and Reconciliation Project, I supported women survivors of conflict in Northern Uganda to advocate for their rights to justice, reparations and ending stigma. At the International Center for Transitional Justice, I spearheaded gender inclusion in transitional justice processes in Kenya. I then joined the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, where I gained exposure to human rights research methodologies and engaged with the Kenya's prison and probation services, the African human rights system, and universities across Africa. I conceptualised and organised an annual call for papers, a research methodology workshop, and a continent-wide human rights conference, resulting in peer-reviewed open-access publications. Additionally, I developed a research framework for the Kenyan correctional services.Looking ahead, I see myself in programme advisor or manager roles, leading initiatives within an international non-profit or foundation that focuses on advancing human rights, gender equality, research, and transitional justice for vulnerable populations. I am particularly passionate about working in post-conflict societies, communities recovering from oppression, higher education, policy-making institutions, and the African Human Rights System. My goal is to contribute to impactful programmes that drive lasting change and promote inclusion in the pursuit of justiceOutside of work, I enjoy reading and sharing book reviews on Instagram (@siiva_reads). I also draw inspiration from everyday experiences, transforming them into teachable moments that enrich my professional perspective and approach.
