About Kassandra Ruiz
As a first-generation, low-income, Latinx student from the Bay Area, CA, I value community and education. I am pursuing a bachelor's degree in Media Studies with an emphasis in Digital Studies at UC Berkeley. I am passionate about learning in sales, fundraising, marketing, and brand management. I aspire to use my communication skills to make a positive impact in society, specifically with first generation students and low-income communities. I am currently the Director of Finance at The Bearettes, where I lead the finance committee to plan and execute various fundraising events and campaigns. I have successfully secured over $10,000 in funding from different sources, including crowdfunding, grants, and sponsorships. I am also a Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT) Fellow, a selective program that provides me with professional and leadership development opportunities, such as business case studies, industry conferences, and mentorship. Through these experiences, I have honed my analytical, quantitative, and technical skills, and I have learned from industry leaders to enhance different perspectives.
