greetings everyone, With motherhood combined, I have over 10 years experience working in early childhood education. I started working for day cares when I was 18 years old and though I knew I always wanted to work with children, my aspiration at first wasn't to teach, but to heal. My previous experience is in medical assisting and I am currently working front office at West Over Hills Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics. I am 29 married with two beautiful girls. Living in San Antonio hasn't taken the country out of me as I am originally from Lafayette Georgia, home of the peach and proud of it. I wouldn't consider my self a hobbyist, I tend to pickup on projects quickly so I guess you can say I'm the jack of all trades. But baking/cooking is definitely up there with my favorite things to do, along with painting and photography, but not the new digital upload a photo to a Bluetooth scanner picture taking, I like Polaroids. An old sole living in a world forever technically evolving hasn't stopped me from obtaining vital technological skills needed when entering the educational field. I've spent a long time waiting for my time to come in life, were I can be more an do more then just get by. Having my first daughter not long after I graduated with my associates changed the course of my career for the better. I discovered my life's dream as my passion for working with children took a turn and grew through teaching my own. as cliche as it sounds, I truly believe children are the future. And what better way to be apart of the future than to go to school and earn a bachelors degree in (ECE) early childhood education. Looking back at young me inspires who I've become now to make all my childhood dreams come true for the young children of today. "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery but today will be news." The current office position I'm working has taught me new and enhanced many strengths about myself that will prove useful as an educator. Skill such as time management, personal and professional awareness and the ability to work in a fast pass environment while remaining organized as well as social and communicative are a few examples I believe will build my professional performance getting me to my over all goal as a curriculum coordinator. One trait I'm particularly proud to have is being personable. Anyone can educate you on something but the good ones teach you "about" it. Learning helpful traits is good for performance but being present inspires and creates change, which is why I believe I'd make an exceptional educator.
