Hello to whoever reads this! My goal is to live sustainably off of our little 3/4 of an acre here in Laramie, Wyoming. That is when the concept of Triple Harvest Micro-Farm came into being! We are crazy small at the moment, and not even paying for the materials to grow microgreens yet! So, alas, I must find employment so that I can invest in our little adventure. Our primary goal is to employ sustainable permaculture, essentially a "foodscape" to our front yard making seasonal home cooked jams, jellies and the like. We have plans for greenhouses and the kids just moved out of the basement, so I have indoor growing space as well. It takes money to do that, so I would prefer to immerse myself in local food production as much as possible while learning as much as possible in the process! I have learned, through working in medicine most of my adult life, that we are what we eat! I would love to do my part and be part of the solution, so here we are! Skills practiced were: measuring patient visual acuity at distance, near and color/depth perception, refractions for glasses prescriptions, managing and training new technicians, managing patient and office efficiency throughout the day, ordering surgical supplies for in office use, patient education regarding eye and general physical health, assisting the surgeon in minor surgeries including a wide range of procedures, notifying patients of test and pathology results, setting up and maintaining accuracy in electronic medical records. Deployment can be tough on a family! While in Fort Campbell, KY, I worked for part of my husband's deployment to Afghanistan and quit to focus on our boys, who were starting to hit puberty and getting into trouble. I was a POC for the spouses in my husband's unit and did some volunteer work at that time. After deployment, we were stationed in Ft. Sill, OK where our youngest was born. I then had a chance to stay home with him, so that is what I did! I also volunteered at my older children's schools at this time. I went back to work for Dr. Shafer a month after our return to Laramie, and home!

My duties were : administer immunizations to soldiers accurately and efficiently while educating about possible side effects and the dosing schedule for each immunization, drawing blood, assist in optometry, clearing soldiers from post for PDHA and PDHRA, MED PROS Data entry.

My duties were: Administer medications accurately and with punctuality to all residents who require assistance, schedule appointments for residents with physicians, notify physician of any changes to health and general well being, treat minor injuries such as skin tears and change dressings as ordered by the physician, help promote the psycho-social-spiritual well being of the residents, manage the resident care team including resident aids in an effective and positive way, order and stock medications as necessary, efficiently and accurately chart any changes and the plan provided in patient charts with confidentiality, provide quality assessments concentrating on the resident's well being.
