As the director of people growth and engagement, I oversaw multiple departments and an outstanding team of specialists who worked daily to accomplish our vision of building the Wise Firm. Our team’s mission was to create a firm of fully-engaged, continually growing and empowered team members who were striving daily to reach their Full Potential. In traditional firms you'd see this designed as the the recruiting and onboarding team, the L&D team, and the internal communication and events team, but since HORNE was not a traditional firm, it was not a traditional team. We created a new way to attract, grow and engage our people. We intentionally designed the employee experience, end to end, to bring our vision for workplace culture to life.More specifically, I set the vision and designed strategy for team member attraction, development and growth to align with critical competencies that would create success for employees and the firm. We focused on business drivers and leadership development, not compliance standards. I was accountable to the Board for Directors for team member recruitment and talent pipelines, in person and virtual onboarding, growth pathways and development competencies, learning compliance standards, Full Potential coaching, and overall employee engagement. I served as an advisor to the executive partner, and partnered with him for a decade to bring the Wise Firm culture to life. I advised the COO and BOD. I was an active servant on the Belonging at HORNE steering committee and chairman of the firm's personnel committee.
