I’m as a Radiographer in Monaragala District Genaral Hospital Sri Lanka since 2009I am doing CT Scan ( plan CT , Contrast CT Study, CT Guided Biopsy, CT trauma cases, CT Angiogram ) , Dental X-ray , Inward X-ray ( ICU , PBU and ETU) and Plain X-Ray Diagnostic Radiography.I am also Radiation Protection officer in Radiology Department .The main duties performed as a Radiographer are listed below• Check X-Ray machines working condition.• Check the sophisticated machine performance.• Use radiation safety measures and protection device to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of patient and staff.• Review and evaluate developed X-rays, video tape or computer generated information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purpose. • Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure safety and comfort during procedures. • Position and immobilize patient on examining table.• Record and maintain patient data and prepare diagnostic report.• Demonstrate new equipment, procedure, or techniques to staff and provide technical assistance.• Collaborate with other medical team members, such as physicians or Nurses to conduct angiography or special vascular procedures.• Set up examination rooms, ensuring that all necessary equipment is ready including all emergency equipment. • Obtaining inform consent, from patient/patient’s relation prior to the procedure.• Check patient history with previous reports.• Monitor patient’s condition and reactions, if there any reporting abnormal signs immediate inform physician. • Observation patient during procedure and until patient left the procedure room.• Perform administrative duties such as developing departmental operating budget, coordinating purchases of supplies or equipment, or preparing work schedules.
