Functioned as the Head of the Clearing Department carrying out a vital role in performing/managing Cheque clearing of the branches belonging to the Nuwara Eliya District through a system known as the Cheque Imaging and Truncation System (CITS). My key responsibilities are: - o To monitor and manage (administrate) the Cheque Imaging and Truncation System (CITS) which was the primary computer system used in Scanning and Uploading/Downloading cheque images for centralized clearing. o To administrate the LAN Client/Server Network. Managing the LAN connection to the Virtual Private Network (VPN) of Peoples Bank (Pvt) Ltd via a DSU connection of SLT/Dialog backup link.o Troubleshooting system errors and ensuring reliability of System data.o Handling and Monitoring the Virus Guard of the System.o Incorporating updates as and when required.o Carrying out Day end Backups of System data.o Handling the Archival of Cheques received from Branches.o Managing and guiding the operational staff in the Clearing Department, in Day to Day job roles.o Ensuring accuracy of Data Uploaded and Downloaded.o Managing the Hardware of the System; i.e. Computers, Cheque Image Scanners, Network Printers, etc.o Providing assistance to branches with IT related issues (Hardware/Software), and also in problems relating to the Cheque clearing process.

I was working at LANKACLEAR(PVT)LTD – Nuwara Eliya Regional Center, which is a company that was consisting of 11 Regional branches island wide, formed by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) and all Commercial Banks of Sri lanka, involving in the islands Banking Systems Cheque Imaging and Clearing; for over 3 years, employed as a Systems Administrator whereby my responsibilities were:-o To ensure system stability, monitor and manage (administrate) the SQL Server Database.o To monitor and manage (administrate) the Cheque Imaging and Truncation System (CITS) which was the primary computer system used in Scanning and Uploading/Downloading cheque images for centralized clearing. o To administrate the LAN Client/Server Network.
