Working in the Geotechnical field is always challenging, but rewarding, although working as a field technician is even better. Meeting new people, driving to isolated destinations, working on different types of engineering projects are always enhancing my enthusiasm on geotechnical engineering sector. I am currently employed with Ground Science East Pvt Ltd, Melbourne as a Laboratory and field technician. Having been part of this organization, have developed thorough knowledge about the controlled testing of earthworks and associated site preparation works for residential and commercial developments. I am performing my duties on field by providing informed solutions for clients through attention to detail and comprehensive explanations where needed to understand our course of action, or in response to on-going site issues with on-site field engineering supports through level 1 supervision in according to the AS 3758 and technical results through measuring densities of compacted landfilling layers. Also, conducting soil testing and sample preparation compliance with AS 1289 which including CBR, Particle size distribution analysis, PL and PI tests, MDD, HILF and MOD compaction tests

Sri Lanka

• Preparing draft design sketches of brick walls, trenches, and drains prior to construction of structures; in some cases, making amendments to the primary sketches developed by architectural consultants.• Performing routine inspections at completed buildings and supervising ongoing maintenance such as waterproofing, ceiling deflection repairs and shear crack repairs.• Coordinating logistics with internal subcontractors such as electricians and plumbers, and external stakeholders such as shoring and carpeting companies.• Determine budget, schedule, manpower and material and equipment requirements to execute additional works of the project.• Performing concrete stress tests such and slump and cube tests at construction sites.• Measuring formwork of structural columns, slabs, retaining walls and their footings to compute the required volume of concrete.
